SB 901 -- Joint Committee on Health

This bill establishes the Joint Committee on Health to analyze
and develop policy proposals for all citizens of Missouri to have
affordable healthcare; monitor the development and implementation
of the proposals by the Medicaid Reform Commission; and monitor
the needs, costs, solutions, and problems regarding health care
policy.  The committee will be comprised of five members of the
House of Representatives and five members of the Senate.  All
state departments, commissions, and offices responsible for the
administration of health care policies, mental health, and social
services will cooperate and assist the committee with its duties.

The committee may consult with public and private universities
and academies, public and private organizations, and private
citizens in the performance of its duties and enter into
contracts with entities for the analysis and study of current or
proposed changes to health care policies.  The committee will
have the power to subpoena witnesses; take testimony under oath;
and compel the attendance of witnesses, the giving of testimony,
and the production of records.

The bill contains an emergency clause.
